40 Questions on 2006

1. What did you do in 2006 that you'd never done before?
Worked on the Opening & Closing Ceremonies for both the Melbourne Commonwealth Games & Doha Asian Games, flew internationally by myself, went to several countries I've never been to, played with hexadeck, achieved one of my New Year's resolutions

2. Did you keep your New Years' resolutions and will you make more for next year?
I certainly did! 2006 was indeed a better year. Still working on the juggling though. :)
Here's to a better 2007 (and juggling)

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Julian & his wife Kate

4. Did anyone close to you die?
No

5. What countries did you visit?
Japan, Qatar, France and England.

6. What would you like to have in 2007 that you lacked in 2006?
To think less & do more.

7. What date from 2006 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
1st January because Gene & I had rung in the New Year with angry words and I had no idea what the year was going to bring. Thankfully it turned out to be one of the best years I’ve had.

Actively enjoying my month off work in the middle of the year.

9. What was your biggest failure?
Not looking after my health.

First experience with bronchitis (which lead to an intolerance/allergy to penicillin), fractured my shoulder blade, a stupid amount of ear/throat infections. Fruit is your friend. Apparently sleep is too.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
Plane tickets. I agree! Followed closely by my iPod.

12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?
Fi and Mark for proving year after year that romance is still alive. Congratulations!

13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
No one that I feel a need to speak of.

14. Where did most of your money go?
Pounds Sterling/Euro to US/Aussie Dollar exchange. We're thinking of it all as dollars. It's less painful that way.

16. What song will always remind you of 2006?
Under the Milky Way - The Church

17. Compared to this time last year, are you: Happier or sadder? Thinner or fatter? Richer or poorer?

As I do every year :)

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Not so much.

26. What was the best book you read?
Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrel by Susanna Clark. Possibly Fragile Things by Neil Gaiman but I still haven't finished it.

Fabienne Delsol

A job doing what I love

29. What did you want and not get?
See a show that Matt Lockitt directed (I think I’ll have to add it to my resolutions list)

30. What was your favourite film of this year?
I could go with Batman Begins because it was pretty good or Pirates of the Carribean II because Johnny Depp rocks my world, but I think I’m going to go with Confetti because I liked the feel of the movie because it wasn’t too polished. It was fun and just perfect at the time.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I was working but my wonderful friends came to visit and have drinks. I was and still am 23.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?

Johnny’s a steady favourite but Clive Owen’s pretty spunky too…

Tony Abbott almost being able to determine what medications were allowed to be prescribed instead of the AMA.

Out of interest, what happened to question 37?

38. Who was the best new person you met?
I’ve met some amazing people in 2006. Can’t just pick one.

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.
Just another day in paradise
as you stumble to your bed
Give anything to silence
those voices ringing in your head
You thought you could find happiness
just over that green hill
You thought you would be satisfied
But you never will learn to be still.

Today's Blog Thing Insight

You Are Midnight

You are more than a little eccentric, and you're apt to keep very unusual habits.

Whether you're a nightowl, living in a commune, or taking a vow of silence - you like to experiment with your lifestyle.

Expressing your individuality is important to you, and you often lie awake in bed thinking about the world and your place in it.

You enjoy staying home, but that doesn't mean you're a hermit. You also appreciate quality time with family and close friends.

23yrs 1hr 27minutes

I spent the first hour of my 23rd year learning zippo lighter tricks with Gene in the livingroom of our house. It's been a good year already :)

Having read Nomi & Lisa's blog I also did a quiz on Blog Things and this is what I have to show for it.

This may become a daily treat for me... I love quizzes!

Your Stripper Song Is

Master and Servant by Depeche Mode

"Theres a new game

We like to play you see

A game with added reality

You treat me like a dog

Get me down on my knees"

Yawn, dancing is so boring without a little spice.

Never was good at this game

Each player of this game starts with six weird things, unknown facts or habits about you...... People who get tagged need to write a blog of their own (or respond in a message or something!) and state six weird things or habits, and state this rule clearly. In the end, you need to choose six people to be tagged, list their names & leave a comment that says, "you are tagged", & tell them to come read your blog. No tag backs......

1- I squeeze the toothpaste from the bottom of the tube. (Not too neurotic about other people doing it, but I'll always "fix" it up otherwise... It's just more economical - no really)

2- My boyfriend's uncle is "Mr Adult Themes & Sexual References" from SBS

3- Usually just before I cut my hair short I buy several different hair accessories that require long hair.

4- Organising things for other people isn't a problem, but organising my life is.

5- I love people but I generally don't like big group things.

6- I love getting all gothed up, but just never seem to do it outside of the house any more.

I am going to tag Naomi, Lisa, Nick, Nic, John John and Sai
Mainly because these are the only people I personally know with blogs...

20. What was your most memorable birthday?
My 21st was awesome, although as the party was a month later, not sure if that counts... Can't remember the year but I'd completely forgotten it was coming and had gotten in an arguement with my parents the night before about what time I was meant to have gone to sleep. They were always pretty relaxed about bedtime so I was a little frustrated with their insistance that I go to bed at a certain time. The next day I woke up and opened my bedroom door to be greeted by more streamers than I had ever seen as well as a balloon trail to a table filled with lots of exciting looking boxes and a big banner wishing me happy birthday. My folks had gone to the shops at 3am to pick up the decorations and stayed up all night decorating the house. It was wonderful.
